Attendee Tips + Tricks

Kansas City Engaged Wedding Shows are high-energy, fun environments with an exciting crowd.  While you will be able to meet with many wedding professionals and book services for your wedding, win fantastic prizes, watch our fashion shows, and get TONS of inspiration - it can be a little overwhelming to some.  We've got some tips below to help you better navigate your visit.

Attend a Show as Early as Possible: We recommend that all engaged couples attend a wedding show as far in advance of your wedding as possible. This will not only make the preparation of your big day less rushed, but it will also leave you more prepared to move forward in your wedding planning efforts.  Many couples come to more than one show as they move through the planning process.

Come Prepared: The best way to take advantage of the resources a wedding show has to offer is by doing your research leading up to the event. You’ll be meeting a lot of vendors throughout the day, so it’s best to know what components you need to secure for your wedding, whether they are the beginning essentials or last minute details.  Many vendors will have sign up opportunities for their own discounts, prize drawings, or to send you more information.  It's helpful to bring along mailing labels pre-printed with your name, email address, phone number, and wedding date.  It will save your hand from having to provide the same information repeatedly throughout the day.

Make a Plan: Our wedding shows will have over 150 - 200 local wedding vendors! This gives you the opportunity to meet your ideal vendors, but also leaves you with the task of narrowing down who you’d like to hire for your big day.  Take a moment to review our list of exhibitors, as well as reviewing the program map and timeline when you arrive at the show.

Stay Open-Minded: It’s always best to be organized and prepare in advance for your wedding show attendance, but it’s also important to stay open-minded and to plan on meeting a number of vendors that you wouldn’t normally reach out to– you never know what they can offer! Regardless of the companies you’ll come across and whether they fit your style, many wedding professionals are flexible and eager to work with your ultimate vision.

Don’t Forget to Have Fun: Planning your wedding is said to be one of the most stressful parts of tying the knot, but we believe that it doesn’t have to be!  Enjoy food and cake samples, take photos of wedding fashion, participate in the fun and prize drawings prior to our fashion shows, talk with vendors, sign up for our giveaways, dance to the music, and hop in front of a photobooth or two!
